Rf 3sixty.2 Sq?

Hey guys...

My car recently got broken into for like the 4th time... i dont even have a good system installed but have wanted to, though i feel with a glamourous looking HU it will just become more bait, though the detachable faceplate is a good option it is annoying.

Im considering one of the OEM intergration units, specfically the 3sixty.2 just wanting to know opinions on the sound quality of them? like really, how do they sound versus a decent aftermarket HU running some decent amps for an SQ setup?

When setup correctly, they sound great. The only inconvenience is using the units remote fob as the volume instead of the radio volume knob. It does a good job of taming the oem eq setting and flattening the signal. Then with all the options to tailor exactly the way you like. However that pro can be its biggest con. You need to be careful using all those eq options and it becomes tedious. Once setup correctly though it sounds good.

How exactly good is it though, is it comparable to an aftermarket deck or is it limited?

Im puzzled i thought that u could still retain your stock steering wheel controls for such a system, thats a bit of a drawback

If your not looking into competing, then look into the MTX R-Q5(theres a letter after the R, but I don't remember it) It does the same thing as the 3sixty.2 but is 1/3 of the price 99-199 depending on where you get it. I'm probably going to use that unit on my land rover. You keep you stock hu and can use all your controls as normal.

I wouldnt say id go as far as competing but i am picky with my SQ for daily listening //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif like can this unit play clear, loud e.t.c.. does it have any tonal/image disadvantages? i really just dont see how it can work so good playing off the usual "mediocre" factory gear, i know it processes it but are they that good?

Using the stock radio for volume control isn't a good idea because stock radios have an auto eq setting to them. When volume increases it starts cutting lower frequencies. The higher the volume the steeper the cut. When you setup the RF unit, you turn the radio up to about 3/4 volume and run the setup program which counters any EQing being done by the radio at that volume. Then you use the RFs unit for volume control. When setup it sounds just as good as any other system I have heard with a quality deck. I haven't listened to award winning SQ cars though and wouldn't say it is THAT good lol, but it holds its own nicely IMO.

The MTX doesn't have close to the feature set as the sixty.2 and I got my .2 for under 2 bills
The MTX is nothing but a bas booster. No XOs, no processing, nothing. My biggest gripe is it just boosts up the bass as you turn up the volume. It doesn't analyze the slope of the cut and counter it with precise boost. It just gradually boosts it.

Don't expect to find the 3sixty.2 for under 200 like I did unless you get lucky like I did, but I see them go for $250 quite often and think they are worth it at the price well before that MTX unit is worth it's cost. Considering you get true integration, more eq than you need, XOs with djustable slope and freqs and time delay.
