Revisiting The Buick Rainier - Team Megaloud

I've got a competition on Sunday, July 27th that I will be attending in Erie, PA, which is as close as it comes for me in Buffalo, NY. I hope to have everything show ready, but if the X-18 doesn't come in time, I'll be using my friend's Alpine Type-R in my box. I know, way too frickin' big of a box, but I'm just going to compete in sound quality and maybe Show and Shine.
Wait a moment!! Where in Erie is this competition?! I have never been to an audio show and thought Erie was filled to brim with to many old people for such an event.... Might be going to my first show this weekend, awesome!

Digging this log too! Looks real good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Covered ground on the amp rack after work today and laid out the trim panel.

It's hosted at Custom Audio, and is called, "Shake the Lake." Here's the facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/events/632411376898141/

Thank you for the kind words! It's coming along!

Looking good so far. I didn't see it but where did you run the power and ground back in the cab?
The power and ground run through my fender and into the block that you rest your left foot on in the kick panel. From there, they go to the center console and under the carpet through to the back all through the middle. Sorry I didn't cap pictures. I used a hole saw and grommets to get them through the fender.

Amp rack is in the car, and the Alpine MRV-F505's are mounted. Trim rings are going around the amps to cover the gaps in the vinyl. Also, my X-18 is on its way now. Box construction starts tomorrow, as well as the finalizing of the amp rack.

Got the amp rack done and the amps wired up, and then went on a late night cruise on the old bicycle.

Fiberglassed the inside of the box and made my own jasper jig for the router for the holes in the box.

Got the box all finished and wrapped in vinyl. I think I'm going to stain a piece of wood and replace the top piece with it, but I'm happy with the outcome.

Muy bueno. Dig that amp rack man!
Thanks! I might end up redoing it at some point, but I like how this one turned out. Always a work in progress though!

Competition Day! Let's see what she does!

Never updated with how things went at the competition... So long overdue update here.

I ended up taking 1st place in Stock Install and 2nd place in Stock SQ at Shake The Lake in Erie, PA. The X18 hit 139.1db at 34Hz on music running off the MB Quart ONX1.1000D.

Since then, my mind has been changing, and I've replaced my MB Quart ONX1.1000D with a MMATS M2000.1.

I'm changing up the amp rack soon, and will be fiberglassing the amps in, as well as making pillar and door pods. As much as my ankles and windshield love music, I feel like I'll enjoy my setup far more with a better driver arrangement.

I also was given, by my father, a set of early 90's Infinity Polycell High Output Tweeters, which will replace my CDT-TW25's.

And so it begins.

I started by getting on the router and making 4 identical cutouts from 1/2" MDF, and sanded them down to baby bottom smooth.

Then, I used a circle saw to cut a hole for the Dayton, and used a roundover bit on the router to round the edge.

Another option is to get the 4 channel amplifier and purchase 2 surface mount speakers for the rear deck and 2 for the front kick panels. Running...

Why? Because of the owner? The cheaper won't be as clean as the SIA.
