well guys i figured that since i had those cheap $8 road gear 5 1/4 speakers in my car i might as well do a review on them.....
they are in the front door location on a '91 dodge spirit running off the factory h/u....probably 10-15 watts....they are rated at 40 watts...i doubt they will handle that though....the test music was a wide variety of music consisting of mostly rap, country, rock, and some classical.....to start off i want to say that i was actually quite impressed w/ the mid bass response....it was supprisingly accurate as far as 5.25's can go...however the upper freq. were quite harsh and almost painful at higher volumes...they did provide adequite higher freq. response at lower volumes but nothing really worth mentioning.....all in all i would rate them as follows in the followoing categories
mid bass freq response (1-10)
6
upper bass/high freq response (1-10)
4/3
quality (1-10)
3
overall performance (1-10)
4
worth the money ($8/ speaker) y/n?
yes worth $16/pair...not recomended though....
