so im dumb. when i rewired my amp to my subs i put + to - and - to +. they still worked.......but they just sounded wierd to me...i couldnt figure out why...so i come home and realize to put it + to + and - to -....its wierd that they still work...it didnt **** anythin up did it? it works fine

It doesn't hurt your amp to wire up speakers backwards, it just changes the phase. When the sub is supposed to move in, it will move out instead, and vice-versa. The speaker will still work, it will just not sound quite right.

This is especially true if you have two subs wired up, and only one is wired up backwards. This makes one sub move correctly, and the other sub move exactly opposite, which cancels each other out, and make it so you can't really hear any bass.

I have 2 woofers one wired correctly. and the other reversed the wires. cuz if i wire both the same then its a whole lot quieter.... cuz instead of 100 watts going to each i have about 200 going to each... so its wierd... i jus hope this isnt a bad idea

Actually there is no polarity to a speaker, the + and - are only for phasing. When you invert one sub and statndard mount the other you have to reverse the + and - to maintain phase (the in or out movement of the sub). However hooking a sub up with the - of the sub to the + of the amp, the sub will still play fine. (music is AC voltage) therefore no true + and -.
