Chaulk it up as a good life lesson, $750 is a cheap price to pay to not have your brains splattered all over the interior of your car. My guess is you someone who likes to be flashy with your cash and it finally caught up to you.

Also make sure your homie was not in on the deal, depending on how well you know him he may have gotten his $300 and phone back a short time later.
