Resonant Engineering SE10 compared to Diamond CM3 10" for 0.5 cube airspace

hello, Im new here. I'm trying to find the best sub for my application which will be in a stealth box under the back seat of my 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab.

I've heard the Diamond Audio CM3 10"s before in small enclosures and they sounded great for entry level subwoofers. I have never heard the RE SEs before (or any RE sub for that matter). Would the SE 10 work in 0.5 cube of space? How will it compare to the Diamond CM3 or even the new D3 series?

What subwoofer would u guys suggest for this small space? There will be 2 10"s powered by a Hifonics Brutus BX1205D.

I have heard a couple different setups with Diamond CM3 and D3 10's in that truck and that style of box, but I have not heard the RE sub or the other so I cannot give you a comparison. I was impressed as you were with the sound of the Diamond in that small of an enclosure. I have heard entry level Kenwoods, Infinity Perfects, and Diamond D6 10's in that same enclosure, and if I had to pick one that sounded the best of those it would be the D3, followed by the Perfect 10.1.

bump, found the information I needed on bypassing the factory amp, now I need someone with RE experience to comment on whether or not the Diamond CM3s or the SEs will be the better choice for the given application. thanks!

CM3's are solid entry level woofers - and they can take a beating

D3s are exactly tha same as the older named CM3

I happen to have a 12 for sale if your interested......

I have no experience with SE's so I cant comment

If you can fit 12s in your truck you would be way happier than if you went 10s

The prebuilt stealth box only holds 10"s unfortunatly. Oh and I misread the available airspace, each side has 0.65 cube before subwoofer displacement. Dunno how much of a difference 0.15 will make in that kind of enclosure lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If I need more bass I can always purchase the other style stealthbox that uses the center seat up front for a downfiring setup and can hold a 10" or 12", but I think these 2 10"s will be enough for me in this truck.

It seems as if the sensitivity on the new D3s is lower than the older CM3s and the power handling is different at least according to http://www.onlinecarstereo.com. The CM3s had 91dB sensitivity vs 84 on the new D3s. The CM3s were 500WRMS the D3s are 400WRMS.

Other than those 2 different specs are the D3s essentially the same subwoofer just revamped in looks for the new line?

my guy says they are the exact same woofer.........

specs do vary from place to place,I have even seen specs change on

Diamonds own webite on the same product, usually a typo.

500+ watts is perfect for each
