Reselling junkyard parts on ebay?

We have a junkyard here where I work. Ive thought about it, but shipping seems to be too much of a hassle.

Shipping would be somewhat of a hassle for the bigger things like trannys and rearends b/c of having to crate them, get a truck to ship ect. But smaller items that can be shipped via ups, fedex, ect is not to bad and you can make some decent money.

You could sell gears for the Ford 8.8 Rear End (most all fords) I imagine your best bet would be to find 373s (mustang and maybe explorer)

I go to junk yards and find turbo volvos and take the turbos out. There are a few other cars you can usually find turbo's in like saab or mercedes. I pay $25 a piece for them (make sure and take the manifold and everything in one piece). Then I clean them up and sell them on ebay or craigslist. You can usually make a decent profit.

my dad has a tow lot and we get a lot of abandoned cars or uninsured wrecked cars and i have really considered doing this. like pulling the computers and other random parts. i really want to do airbags but apparently those are tricky to ship

Cant see myself buying junk yard parts off of ebay. In NJ DE PA area I have like 30 plus junk yards to go to...... But for most states that dont have junk yards this would be a good idea. Id say look for window motors wiper motors. Stick with small things. Heck even look for trailer hitches.

Well, i buy cars for like $20-$50 and part them out over hte internet vie ebay, craigslist, and random car forums... With the floods a few months ago, i got a few cars for free... pressure washed the shit out of the body panels and sold them. Had some interior stuff cleaned up, rims/tires, some engine parts, the rest goes to scrap...

Not a "get rich uick" thing but i do it for may be 10-20 hours a week and usualy profit around $300+ a week. Sometimes i make $1k+ a week, sometimes i don't sell anythign for a month... Stick with hondas if you want to sell shit quick! or any import for that matter, stay away from Taurus's, Malibu's and cars like that...
