honestly goob it was actually working ok. Like i said last night in a thread. The forum idiots that deserve negative rep had it. and all the rest had different levels of green.

I think one of the biggest things it needed was showing the reppers name be it neg. or pos. Also only being able to see the last 5 reps. Whether it comes back or not, I was just throwing ideas out there.

The rep system is on hiatus until it can be reworked to be a more trustworthy system.

I can guarantee you if it returns it will be worse. It was actually leveling itself off and I was getting one rep a day, somedays none, and I wasn't handing out as much rep in the past week or so as I had in the beginning. You should have given it more time. If you bring it back, at least enhance it. Make colors, titles, and more features. Like leaving the name automaticallly.

personally glad they are gone, it was an abused system and i know i did my share of that abusing just cause it was funny to trash an un thought out system.

Colors might be a good thing, along with a few other options. It just needs to be retuned, the members educated about it and "hopefully" it will work. If not, it can always be turned off again.

I have never really seen a rep system that works though. It seems that human nature is greedy and likes to abuse powers/previlages given to them. There will always be people that have to have the most Rep points, thats the problem, if everyone didnt care about how many points they had and only cared to use it for the pupose it was created is the only time the rep system will work, that hwoever would need to completey erase human nature.

I dont know if this is possible or not, but maybe have it leave the name of the person who repped you, but then not allow you to rep that person back for, say, 24 hours. That might cut down on all the "i rep you, you rep me" stuff.

People will always find ways around "restrictions" like that. I think we need to figure out a system were people can be trusted not to abuse the system, a simple color change or limits will have little signifacance.

That might help, but then it needs to let us see all rep instead of the 5. Otherwise you tend to forget who should get some back or who to remember doesn't.

what about adopting heatware.com? Alot of big forums use it and its pretty well maintained.
