removing emblems

what I would do is take a plastc razor blade and some kind of liquid i.e. water, windex, etc. and soak it up and slowly pry it off with the plastic razor, evetually you can pull it off like that, then take some kind of adhesive remover and wipe off the glue with it, that's how I got my emblems off, I also remeber a guy telling me he took his off with dental floss

I heard the hair dryer thing too.....Supposed to just melt the glue, and the emblem just slides off. Never heard of using the dental floss, might have to try it.

Its not glue either, its 2 sided foam tape

Its glue, same thing was on my bird. Take a heat gun, heat untill its warm. Take some kind of plastic wedge. And pry. Should come off. All the excess crap, peel much off w/ fingers as possible. Any exterior cleaners (wax/polish.clay bar. ANYTHING to take off the rest.) Have fun. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

just dont scrape it with one of those rough sponges to wipe dirty plates at ur sink and scratch the paint like me, prior to that i was using my NAILS, YES IT HURT!

I heated the emblem with a hair dryer and then got a piece of fishing line and kind of went in a see-saw motion behind the emblem until it finally came off, you may also need to apply more heat during this stage, but not too much. Once I got the emblem off there was still some of the glue left on the paint so I sprayed the area with 3M Adhesive & Wax remover and wiped off with a terry cloth until all the glue was gone. Then I followed it up with a small coat of wax on the area.

Most cars are double sided foam tape. I would know, worked in a body shop as the detailer for 2 months.

how old is the car. if it a year or two old i would use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat it up and then lightly tug on it. if it is a few years old i would leave it. it is part of the car then.

i have an olds bravada, and i used just fishing line. also you have to be careful with heatguns, ive heard of people using it for too long and the exterior paint would bubble. so i just used the fishing line and did the samething that cpierce did the "3M Adhesive & Wax remover and wiped off with a terry cloth until all the glue was gone."

i also did this for my escalade works great
