removing dynamat

is there an easier way to remove the black rubber left behind from ripping the dynamat extreme out. trying to sell my car and I removed all the mat but there is still the rubber shit all over the trunk.

heat it up first...peel off the bulk of it. clean up residue with goo gone and some muscle strength.
