Removing basket

use a razorblade and cut through the surround all the way around.

then cut through the spider(s) and tensil leads.

it should come out easily after that.

then unbolt the basket.

i used a #3 phillips bit to take the basket off my tc10 oem so that would probably work in this case as well.

the basket will probably be glued to the top plate so it might take some careful tapping with a rubber mallet to make it come loose.

be careful when hitting it because the top plate might decide to come unglued...

and getting it back on correctly isn't much fun.

top plate as in the top plate of the magnet?

now can you fit any size basket on any motor, or only certain motors or what? and also when you wanna recone something to a different size, and you buy the recone, does the basket come with it or do you have to buy one from them or off here or what? and also what specs need to be known when ordering a recone? sorry for all the questions, its just im interested in getting into this also.

All subs are reconable. But for what price pends on what parts are used. A lot are not worth the effort.

You buy softparts from a supplier...including the basket unless you already have one. No not all baskets will fit all motors.

You also cannot just recone any motor to any size. It largly depends on what the coil and motor are capable of.

Why would you rip apart a perfectly good sub? That's dumb unless you wanted to build another one from it in a different size. And you can't do it without destroying the working parts.
