I have the 9500, but i'm gonna be getting the type x this weekend. I want to know which will sound better running off a 1501. What are you guys opinions?

i wanted to run them both, but someone told me that would sound shitty.

if you want to run two subs they should be the same brand and model. If you use two different subs they will work against eachother.

well from what I have readand heard, using two different subs causes cancellation and poor sound quality. I dont know exactly why but I would guess that the differences in the sub would cause them to run some dergee out of phase

Are you looking for more SQ? The Type-X can still get plenty loud, sealed or otherwise. I am currently running mine sealed with 1100 watts, and it gets low and pretty loud too without losing any SQ.

I have heard the Type-X in two different ported enclosures, and if anyone thinks that it won't work, they are out of their minds! One box was slot ported, and the other was that JL style box with the red internal carpeting...

Lets put it this way:

If I had the available space, I'd be running this sub ported, but I cannot even fit it under my seat in the sealed box because of the mounting depth.

i'd be running it with a slot port. it's the mtx 9500 sledgehammer box. i didn't build it. i'm pretty new to the "sq vs spl" deal. i know i like the bass clean and hard enough to feel it in my chest. i don't care about hearing it outside. my 9500 has broken my rearview off multiple times
