remove all bass?

in line high pass filter aka bass blocker, you just need one to filter out 300hz on down.

300hz down is going to leave a massive gap in the music, try setting your hu to where your speakers sound clean at this point your sub amp gain will probably be too low so reset it to compensate for it receiving a weaker signal. basically set the gain with the bass where it sounds best on your speakers instead of flat like normal.

so that means i'd need to put my gain very high? because right now it is more than halfway (and that is WITH the +4 on my HU)

 
some cheaper HU's won't push an amp to full capability even with the gain maxed, dual for example is one.
