i dont care for fishmans work. it is all good work, but i dont think he has the artistic quality that others do. his work doesnt flow as nicely as some of the other major installers. it looks high quality, but pieced together. look at some of steve browns work and it looks like it grew there.

I guess that's business and celebrities that go there typically have more money than they know what to do with, and like a fool are soon parted thereof LOL.
As for the average joe, did anyone see that episode where some guy (non-celebrity) goes in there? The funny thing was the guy had to be under 25 and he had a Ferrari I think and he didn't look like he made the money in legit fashion (or even owned the car legitimately, LOL) but when he gave him a quote for like one sub and an amp the guy had to leave because he couldn't afford it. And he went in there with a Ferrari, not like some average car. So you can imagine the insane amounts of money they charge sports players, musicians, etc.

As for Reme v. Mike, I'd have to say Reme because Mike is apparently a clown LOL. I guess on the one hand you have Reme doing simple installs while the guy he works for charges 100x what the installs are worth; while on the other hand you have Mike doing "free" installs for people that have ghetto cars... But I mean out of the stupidity of installs, and his attitude off the show (or so I've heard) Mike still loses, lol.

it was a 350z convertable.... a little ways off of a ferrari //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

EDIT: nevermind, im thinking of a different episode, i believe...

Reme does clean simple installs, mostly on exotics usually owned by celebs. I think the reason most of his installs are so simple and plain is because Will gives the customers outrageous turn-around times, usually 2 days! I’d like to see what he can do when he actually has a decent amount of time to do it. Also, they really need to switch it up and start doing something different. I feel like 99% of they’re installs are the same or VERY similar to the others.

Mad Mike’s situation is sort of the opposite of Reme’s. His installs are way overboard (usually to the point of being stupid), and he works on junk box cars owned by teens, and it seems like he’s not on a strict deadline like Unique. When he does something silly like install a coffee maker in the trunk, it’s obviously done for ratings only. I remember one episode a while back when some kid’s car had major chassis damage, and they found it irreparable. They had no choice but to buy him a new car. When they finally got the chance to work on something new, they went all out and did some pretty good work. I don't remember what kind of car it was, maybe a Hyundai Tiburon or something similar?

I think if you put Reme against Mad Mike, each working with the same car (something nice), you'd have a good competition. I’d definitely watch it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/popcorn.gif.32dd9e22fd77e77bc3c907062768fcd2.gif

both of them need to be shot in the head...and drug behind a car from LA to New York....Both have little talent and are OK at best....

bottom line is Brian Schmidt is hands down the best installer in the world..NO IF ANDS OR BUTS ABOUT IT...also guys like Gary Biggs, Steve Head, Joe Moreia"WHO IS THE BEST VINYLER IN THE WORLD", Jeremy Carlson, Jeff Smith etc....

Thank you. I was about to write the same about Will's OUTRAGEOUS turnaround time. That has alot to do with their price too.

I mean, really, look at anything else in life where the market is the uber-wealthy (rich as Chris Rock would note). The company/stores charge what the client will pay, and since the client is too lazy it seems to shop around they take it.

Now, I do believe Unique does great jobs. They have great CS (pickup, dropoff, everything is clean, 1 day turnaround on some vehicles). That's a product the customer is willing to pay for. I would like to see what Remy can do in a couple week's with plenty of artistic freedom. Alot of people here bash what he does, but notice how fast he does what he does. It would take most of us here 2,3, or 4 times longer to complete what he does in a day.

But, I do agree, there's no way I'd ever pay those prices *even if I won the lottery*.

I've watched Unique many times, it is probably one of my favorite shows, and it has it's goods and bads. Their goals at the shop aren't to set SPL records or do crazy installs even though the money the client is spending would suggest those should be their goal, never the less, their goals are to please the customer and get everything the client wants as fast as possible. It does get really predictable (alpine flip out HU, JL/Alpine comps, random JL Amp/s, random JL subs) but to the uneducated client this is what they want, they know Alpine and JL are good brands for car audio no matter how little they know. You also have to understand that their clients are extremely busy people, they don't have the time we have to research for the best price and product. And the reason they work with the same products is A) sponsorship and B) familiarity. When you work with the same HU and amps etc. you can install them a bit quicker than one you've never worked with.

But Reme is definatly a better installer than mad mike. When given the right amount of time Reme's trunk designs are hot.

Oh and didn't any of you see tony stewarts cadillac hearst? they did all that in like 15 days. That's incredible no matter what your feelings where on how it looked.
