^^ Sterophile gets pretty mixed reviews. I personally love them. Yeah, they do review 350,000 dollar amps that I will never be able to afford, BUT, I do like to see those sort of things. They also review very inexpensive, but what they consider great equipment, as well.

What are your requirements for your preamp? I've had a few that I've enjoyed but some serve different purposes. My McCormack TLC-1 is one of my favorites, but its passive design is not for everyone.

If you want to go with an all-in-one unit that combines two-channel with phono, I've been more than satisfied with my ARC unit...

I thought the Rogue Audio pre I had was built really well, but it had a really high noise floor to my ears...kept hearing pops and ticks from it. Where you don't have high efficiency speakers that might be less annoying to you. Other reviewers have noticed the same thing...
