Right now ive got 2 blaupunkt 10s in my truck and they have super sound quality but they dont hit hard enough for me. My question is should i build a bigger box and run 1 good 10 or 12 with about 400-500 w rms to it. Or should i run 2 8's and give them 200w rms each. the 8's would be easier to fit. But i would really like this setup to get low. do u think re, koda, or treo 8's will still get low and hit hard in 0.4ft^3 or should i run 1 12. BTW, wutever I choose, it has to have a max mounting depth of 5.0 inches and no greater. Finding a good 12 with that little depth is kinda hard...

P.S> could somebody tell me the difference between a high and low BL sub? thanks

i've never used koda 8's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

but jumping from the 2 10's you have, going down a subwoofer size, and removing 1 of those subwoofers, i'd say you are going to get NOT-as-loud...

but the S8L7's are potent drivers, but i'd say only if you could get 2 ported... my 1 sounds loud, but i wouldnt call it 2 10's... of coarse i've never used blaupunkt. i've heard my fair share of "cheap" subs my 8 could beat the hell out of....

i have a reg cab s-10 i got an atlas to fit @ 6.5" deep. if you built a reg box and resined the back side of the box 1/2" wood could be used (mines a build to so the back of my box is the truck). mine is also a bench seat so at 1 notch from being all the way back i still have 2.5 " of clear space for the cone to move.

i built a box for 5 re 8's ported for my regular cab...only problem is the leg room kinda sux...

i have yet to get the subs(in shipping) and im already designing a smaller box...

would 6 re8's sealed be as loud or close to 5 ported?

ill post how they turn out soon as i get dat shit installed

y not just go with one 4"deep audiobahn 10?????....1000w rms and they pound
1st post, and a worthless one too. j/k

I would personally go with the 12" only case you dont have to give up all the room behind the seat. Thats just me, if you want more bass many people find the RE 8's or the kicker l7 to work.

well the thing that screws me up is the mounting depth. thats how i lose my legroom. Most good 12's have a mounting depth of more than 5 inches. But some good 8's are way less than that. And if i can get an 8 with less than 5 inches of depth, i can keep all my legroom.
