i blow the motor in my 1970 monte carlo. so i am getting ready to take it out, i got hungey so i went into town to eat and i seen a 1994 jeep grand cerikey (i cant spell it) with a 318, it is in pretty good conditon, and has 230,000 miles on it, that is alot but the guy said i can have it for $700 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif it is easyly worth 2 grand, But if i buy it i will not have money to rebuild the monte's motor. So what should i do? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Jeeps GC are cool and $700 is cheap but 230,000 is alot of miles. But hell as long as 4 wheel low works good then I would get it for $700.

The fortunate thing, however, about older GM-built v8 motors as opposed to all that electronically controlled gadgetry on that Grand Cherokee is the difference in how easily one can be worked on compared to the other.

230k miles on an 11-year-old anything is pretty **** high mileage ...does it's owner have a job that requires them to travel alot?

Were it me I'd just redo the Monte - but that's me who hasn't a clue how to do any extensive work on newer vehicles.

i will end up doing the monte motor i will just have to wait a month if i get the jeep. i would like to make a mud/sand truck out of the jeep, the body and paint is good on it

Get the jeep (assuming it runs fine, etc).

Nice to have a backup vehicle.

Easy, you should buy the jeep drive it for a couple months and sell it for 1500-2200. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif. If I could buy it I would, then I'd sell it the same day for 1500. After tax and title change you'll get like 500 for an easy day of work.

the 5.2's were good motors but had a problem for a few years with oil pumps just breaking and seizing motors in the cherokee. but more importantly i wouldnt expect the ****** in that to last much longer. even with proper maintenance it's whole life it really wont last that much longer.

i got the jeep, it is fast but anit worth shit in mud. the secondday i had it i got it stuck in the mud. sorry no pics. i am getting a lift kit soon

If I found someone to buy a '94 Jeep with 200,000+ miles on it for $1,500, I don't think I'd be able to restrain myself from laughing and calling the guy an idiot long enough to sell the car.
