so i have two re destroyer motors and i want to put apxx coils on them. i got two apxx coils and the coils are about 1.5" longer. will this make a big diff like in xmax or anything compatability wise? the top of the former is the same but were the coil starts the winding is almost twice as long. any input on this?

Probably wouldn't work too well if the coils are that much different.

well idk. would it make that much of a difference? the coil will just sit a little lower into the motor. they are same width. as long as im not reaching smax and bottoming out the former i think it should be ok. is this theory good or complete crap?

as dave (team psi) cause he knows this motor i am sure.

i would center the coil with the top plate personally. make sure u use enough spiders cause you will be throwing more weight...

i was gona just get apxx spiders. i got the coils for cheap and i was gona buy cones surround and spiders from atomic. and i was gona get really still spiders. i will ask dave. thanks

that is what i thought. i dont see why it would affect the sub any diff then that and with a really still suspension and a good box that wont be a problem every.

i think you are still going to have coil clearance issues. spiders can be super stiff now but that doesn't mean that the level of xmax won't keep it from bottoming out.

if you do recone it and end up bottoming out fairly quickly then you'd end up losing a nice chunk of change.
