yes. You want 24 bit DACs at the least which directly affects the overall sound quality you get off the bat without any tuning. If you use an amplifier, you'll want at least 3 pairs of 4 volt(or higher) outputs so you can keep your amp gains low. If you want actual control over the sound you'll need a good EQ. If you want your music to go from just plain music to a whole concert experience, you'll need time alignment.

So its not some units, just superior spec'd units work better overall than trash units that offer no real tuning along with having poor DACs that directly affect sound quality.

Jeff, pardon my ignorance, but what is a time alignment and also would you go with a separate eq rather that the one in the head unit?

seperate EQs are trash compared to the head unit EQ if you have a head unit with a proper EQ.

So you see in your car, the whole audio system is unbalanced meaning the left driver side speakers are much closer to your ears than the right. This just makes plain sounding music. However with time alignment, it delays the left side speakers to play a bit behind so that both right and left sound waves reach your ears at the same time. This creates a virtual sound stage where it feels like a concert is on your dash. You can basically hear the drums sweeping across your dash and the singer dead center, guitarists on the side etc... Gives music an actual sense of realism vs dull sounding lifeless music thats basically stuck down by the side of your leg.

the units that were recommended on here earlier man. you completely dismissed them or something go back and read and actually check them out or search them up? 80 prs, and papermaker's suggestions. We already established thats the main 3 best head units sound quality and tuning features wise for around 250
