Recommend me a...

Last one I built was up near $2k. I don't know anything about building budget computers :/
But if you wanna run SLI, do some overclocking with quad-channel memory and some watercooling, RAM disks, RAID arrays, VM's, let me know.
Haha. I don't think I need all that...... I just want it to be fast and have nice graphics and sound. :)

Most onboard sound cards are decent for just gaming. I wouldn't worry about adding a card unless you plan on streaming movies somewhere and having the computer do the D/A conversions, not to mention on your budget. I ain't doin that shyt, I'm letting my Pioneer reciever take care of that.

For graphics cards, I'm a fan of Nvidia, and the brand EVGA. I think a GTX 550 should do pretty well, and I think they are like $100-150 right now. But again, I'm not super sure what will do that well on that low of a budget without building an entire computer. And, well, I just ain't got the time for that right now. Sorry :/

Just look for stuff that's on sale, sometimes the barebones kits on newegg and tigerdirect are pretty decent. You know everything that you need to get and how they are/need to be compatible?

Well she didn't post it, but that's what she wants.

I'm debating to sell my Asus g73jh-a3 laptop, along with asus laptop backpack and asus gaming mouse, so I can build my desktop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

that would definitely work, but id also switched out the hard drive for a SSD, yes it would be smaller compacity but it would be a huge speed boost since the read and write times blow rpm hd's out of the water (especially 5400rpm hd's)

It wouldnt be a waste either, just get a usb 3.0 external drive shell for the 1tb it comes with and now you have your storage as well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
