Recommend me a good head unit

What I need :

-Ipod control. Not just aux in through the headphone jack, I'd prefer one with a data connection that can browse the device and use playlists, show artist/song data, etc. I believe my iPod is 5th generation. (30Gb, black, video)

-At least two preouts. (one for sub, one for front speaker amp) Adjustable HPF/LPF are nice, but not 100% needed. Both amps have filtering on them.

-Not looking to spend a fortune, we'll say my budget is $300 max

Double or single din size is fine. If it's single din, I'd prefer a removable faceplate. I don't really care if it's a flip up or whatever, just something to get the job done.

In a nutshell I just want a good quality head unit that performs basic functions well. I will listen to almost exclusively iPod, CDs, and FM radio. My system will be a medium budget build with an emphasis towards quality, but nothing crazy.

i have the pioneer DEH-P7900BT and love it. it has all wat yr looking 4 plus blue tooth. i payed 500 at best buy befor i found caraudio.com. woofersEtc.com has it on sale 289.99

check out ebay car audio for any head units best deals around. Eclipse has a great one cd4000 i think

I will always stand by my PRS-880 Pioneer. Great deck and can be had pretty cheap now. Might be something to consider.

Is the bluetooth only for data transfer? Or does it tie into phones and stuff?

u can connect 2 yr cell phone wen u get a call u c the # on the hu. u can make calls with the remote. if yr phone has mp3 u can play it through the hu. u can turn subwoofer off and select the phase of the sub output. its xm and sirius ready. has aux1 and aux2. and much much more. iv had mine 4 over 3 month and still finding new stuff.

I bought a Panasonic C3303U for under 150 dollars. It has 2 pre outs, Ipod controls you are looking for and a remote. Pretty good unit for a budget HU. I did have to buy the optional cable for the ipod which was about 30 bucks.

You want FAST ipod....either go with Alpine's or Kenwood's new stuff
