Rebuilt HO Alt?

Not sure if this is the right forum, but:

I was told about a shop in my area that can rebuild a stock alt into a high amp alternator.

They say the warranty is for crap. No one I know has ever had it done. I haven't been to the shop yet. I don't even know the name.

Is it worth looking up or should I just buy a new alternator?

I just got one from the junkyard. I got a spot here in Chicago that I might visit tomorrow. Don't mean to jack your thread, but mine isn't working. Anybody know if they can make it 200 amps like i want in its current condition?

my 80 amp alt that in my blazzer was rebulit by reds auto here where i live. He rebuilt it to 200amps @ 14.6v

My stock Honda Civic Alternator (70amp) was rebuilt into a 165 amp Alt
