People smoke it because its illegal. If it was legal and distributed like Cigarettes there wouldnt be an issue. Tax the shit out of it and use it to pay off some of the national debt.

This sentence is used way to much and doesnt hold any value on its own. Everything in moderation isn't bad, but when you do too much of something then it becomes bad. Hell, you can even die from drinking too much water, does that mean water is more dangerous than weed? No. Weed isnt too dangerous for your body, it's dangerous for those around you.
Im not even going to wait for you to answer. Say i go to the bar and CHOOSE to slam back jager bombs all night. Then i CHOOSE to say im ok and drive home. Your wife, girlfriend, sister, brother, mom, dad, son, or daughter is with a friend in front of me and i rear end them killing them. That is lives lost because i CHOSE to drink and drive. The fact that alcohol is harmful is not the issue. Its what the drunk people CHOOSE to do that is the problem and that is the reason i think it should be illegal. Sure, some people would go around the law like they do now with weed but 1 life saved is worth the law.

Its almost humanly impossible to drink to much water. You have to drink 8 gallons in 6-8 hours and your metabolism, body weight, and other organ functions all play into it.

While your at it get rid of scissors, shoe laces, lighters, anything in a compressed can, spray paints, socks, bed sheets, razor blades, etc.
The difference is alcohol alters your state of mind. Carrying a gun or knife might do that too but thats why there are laws on those. If im drunk, my decision making will be different then sober. I could shoot the fuck out of you drunk for looking at me funny and it would be something i would write off sober. Playing with the radio, screwing around and all, while dangerous, doesnt alter your capabilities like alcohol does. Thats like comparing weed to water like the guy did above.
What about talking on the cell phone and driving? The majority of people cant focus on driving and talking and pay more attention to the conversation on the phone. That alters your state of mind and causes accidents and death. Lets ban cell phones as well.
Your taking it to the extreme just to show the opposite of my point and while yes, you could make that arguement. It is a ridiculous arguement in my opinion. Im not trying to change anyones opinion, im just stating my feelings. If someone feels different then they are fully entitled.
Using a cell phone is almost the smae as being intoxicated. It is banned around here to be on a cell phone without a hands free device. That is more extreme that you are not educated on. I forgot the exact percentages but being on a cell phone makes you like 33 times more likely to be in an accident and texting is like 66%, i learned all that in driving school.
