Really Pissed

Guys I got a moto q smartphone like a week ago with a new contract with Alltel and the price a month is $100 with unlimited texting and data, and nights at 7, weekends and 1200 anytime minutes. My parents didn't know that I would be paying that much and about an hour ago they found out becuase the bill in the mail came in early wtf.

ANyways even though I was going to pay for all of my cell costs, they say thats ridiculous and are forcing me to take it back and change my contract to a non smartphone. My question is if anyone here knows any non-smartphone cells with a full keyboard and a nice screen that works for alltel or is unlocked.

Do you need that many anytime minutes? If you use your phone primarily after 7, cut back on them...

i dunno if it works with altell but iv had 2 lgf9100's (slide out full keyboard and loved them) but that was last summer/winter now i hav a palm treo....sorry but its def smartphone ftw

but look into the lg, actually i think they came out with a lg f9200 with more features

I know they have the Kyocera strobe with alltel...that is the only other QWERTY phone they have at least around my way...I love my Moto Q though. I got tired of being on dial up...

At 17 years old I dont see you having a use for a smart phone and 1200 anytime is a lotta minutes, hell my dad owns his own buisness and he is on the phone non stop and uses right around 900. Textng and data are good but at 17 i really think the only reason you would buy a smart fone like the q is to look cool or peruse the internets. But i kinda like the blackberry pearl but that may put you into the same boat your in now.

That is nothing. Here in the U.K my bill is over $150 each month on the low plan. All I got was a v3x and 350 min.

yeah the base rate for the smartphone plan was like 800 minutes, but it was still 100 a month, so yeah I have to get out of the smartphones all together so you know, so i pay around 50 a month for a non smartphone plan.

yeah i saw that at the alltel store but the both screens on it were cracked up so I hesitated at its durability, so i went with the smartphone q

Are you sure you can even get out of the smartphone contract? A week might be too long for a return.

I have 1200 anytime minutes, free N/W @ 7, for $39 with alltel. Legacy custy ftw.

I have 1000 minutes with T-mobile. I think it's $39 but after taxes and text messages, I think it is $60 or so.

Main reason the smartphone is so much is because alltel requires you to have the full internet plan (for 6 months) which is $30 a month, then you on top of that you have the unlimited data/text plan which is another $20 a month. If you can convince your parents to let you keep it for 6 month's and don't mind losing your internet the price will drop down.
