Really nooby Batcap question.

Ok first time with a batcap.

I have a 1500d or 2000d sundown amp coming some time.

A Alpine 350w amp for speakers.

Just bought a batcap and a 1/0 gauge kit....

waiting on some 0 gauge terminals.

Everything will be in 1ohm btw.

Now. I get how to do most of the whole thing.

Qustion 1:

do I need to ground the amp too the neg side of the batcap or can I just ground the amp to the car? Which is better what is safer? I heard I should also fuse the batcap to the amp as well?.

2. Can I use the batcap sorta as a distro block? Like wire the alpine speaker amp too it? As well as the sundown? The alpine is already wired with 4gauge to the batt from my old setup, but i want to get rid of that 4 gauge.

I really don't know how I can wire my sundown amp with 0 gauge AND the alpine amp because every distro block I see is 0 gauge input too 4 gauge outs.

3. IF I use the batcap as a distro block of sorts. Would I just wire the amps pos and neg too it? and then run a lead ground off that batcap in to the car? OR just run the amps grounds all separate into the car and run the neg side of the batcap to the car as well?

Thanks, I am going big this time and I don't wanna ruin anything, Kill the batcap or kill the amps. I just remember everyone telling me all different things.

I grounded my amp to the frame, then that same point to the batcap...

Yes...i do

i run positive to my mtx with 4 gauge, then the pos to my sundown with 0...ground the amps to chassis

hope that helps

Run a power and ground from front battery to rear and run your amps off the rear battery. Now to get them all to fit you can either get a buss bar made or custom terminals from a user named "toolmaker" Hes doing some for my batcaps. Also if you run the negative from front of car to rear no need to ground out to the car.

OR somthing like this will work too for your rear batt to hook boht your amps up.

I heard that running a ground from the front battery is pretty good for the cleanest way, but this is 1/0 we are talking! lol. I doubt I am gonna be able to fit the 1/0 power by itself. Unless I wanna start drilling and going underneth like guys that run 3-4 rounds of them. Or use the 4 gauge thats ran and use that as ground? lol. I bet thats a no-no because it is 4gauge but I bet I could get away with it. haha

1/0 should fit through your car no problem. I run 4 1/0 guages through my camry you can see my build log if you search my name. And its always better to have a bigger ground or equal to the power wire. But yes running a ground from front batt to rear helps your electrical.

yeah that batcap just has bolts. So I was gonna run a few leads off of that, IF I can, but I don't know if that is too much because it is only a batcap800 and the amp is either going to be a Saz2000d or a 1500d, I am leaning towards the 2000d, Just seems like everyone keeps those and likes them. I can find pages of 1500ds because people don't seem as happy with those as higher power ones.

People just want more power and newest models. Nothing wrong with the Sundown 1500. But a 800 is kind of small but should still help your voltage out. But ya just run terminals off the batt it wont be to much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I did the same with my ladys car she has a Kicker ZX1500.1 and ZX350.4 I got them both hookedup to a Kinetic HC800.. Heres a pic..
