1.) Alright my comps are rated at 70rms but I know people are giving them from 120-150watts. I'm only giving them around 75rms at 4ohms. What wattage should I use to get my voltage to get my gains?

2.) Also, my icon is rated at 900rms but i'm givining it about 1100rms at 2ohms. Should I use 900, 1100, or go in between with 1000 to get my voltage?

Please post up, Thankz.

voltage = square root (power * resistance)

if im not mistaken

so for 75 it would be

75*4 = 300

then take the square root of 300 and that comes out to about

17.320

i'm reading the gain setting tutorial for the speakers and is it correct your supose to unhook all the speaker wires from the amp? Because when you do the sub you only unhook one.

Depends on the amplifier.

I wouldn't use 150w if the amplifier is rated at anything less than that.

Assuming the amplifier is capable of 150w; Try it with the 150w to find the "maximum" you should probably turn up the gain then play it and fine tune by ear. Use your head, obviously. If that setting seems to be over driving the speakers or is getting too loud too quickly, back the gain down.

Try 1100w if that's what your amplifier is capable of.

As above, fine tune by ear; If that seems like it's set too high (over driving the sub, getting too loud too quickly, etc) turn it back some.

Yes, as you really don't want the speakers playing during this.

Because when you do the sub you only unhook one.
