I need a ? answer, hopefully someone out there can help me out. I have a croossfire CFQ 20.2 competition eq with 20 bands on it. The manual says that I need a real - time analzer to tune it. Not sure what that is, where to find one and how much it cost. Can someone help me out.....

You play pink noise through your system and the RTA gives you a frequency response graph, usually in 1/3 octave increments. You use this information and see which frequencies need to be boosted and which need to be attenuated on your EQ. There are a number of companies that make em, you may want to check out Behringer, Audiocontrol, etc. Go on ebay and search real time analyzer if you're on a budget, as some of them can be costly.

You do not need one to tune the EQ. It will sure as hell make the tuning much easier....but you could do it by ear.

Anyways...some times local shops will have one that they'll let you rent time on for $20 or so. Plus if they're nice (and knowledgeable), they'll help you with the tuning aspect some aswell. This is especially helpful if you are a little green in the area of tuning (which it sounds like you probably are).
