Did everyone realize that the ground actually supplies the power. With DC the power flows from the ground to the power. I was chatting to an electrical specialist at my office the other day about some stuff and he brought that up.

That is why the 'big 3' upgrade works as it does. And that's why amps always say to use the same size ground or larger in the manual.

Just wanted to clarify some stuff, because this seems strange, but true.

Um, yes. In a DC circuit, electrons flow from negitive to positive.

I am stating this post because my one friend a few years back, would run the smallest wire to the negative for his amps. I didn't want anyone to be mislead.

Well, POSITIVE DC volate will run from negative to positive. The same way, NEGATIVE DC voltage will run from positive to negative. Back in the day, cars had this reversed, and power came in from positive, because they though having the entire chassis hot would lead to people getting shocked a lot.

In all truth, it doesn't matter either way which direction the electrons are going, as long as they're going the right direction through your equipment.

negitive is, and has been the 'hot' side. Positive grounds were true although, negitive is still the 'hot' side.

positive charges moving from the positive battery post, through the car & to the negative battery post is the same as negative charges going from the negative battery post, through the car and to the positive battery post.

e.g....postive charges moving left = negative charges moving right

this is why u always take the "ground" wire off first when working with stuff, and when hooking up stuff such as amps you hook up the "ground" first. you always want to eliminate that chance that you will become a return circuit lol
