a few months ago a lot of people were doing 4 re8s. I was wondering if you still like them. I want a very cheap system that still sounds good.

Im thinking of doing 2 re8s and then going to 4 in a little while.

The amp is a profile CL600M

300rms 4ohms

450rms 2ohms

My first question is would 113rms per sub be enough for the 4?

I would also just like to get some feedback about the subs from all those who got them a while ago.

yea thats should be enough for them, they are very power effiecent.

I dont think anything has come out to really knock the RE8 out of its place filling that certain little niche. The Koda8 has potential, but its more money (but not much), and as of yet unproven as a subwoofer at least to me.

The TangBand 8's have on some other forums......cheaper and more displacement. However, given this boards alignment with RE, I don't think the TB's would ever catch on here...............

they go for right around the same as the re 8, like 40-50bucks each

I have no experience with the TB, but I was under the impression the RE is generally a better built and sounding driver. Anyone have experience with both and want to let us know?

the koda 8 does look nice, but, it wasn't made to be a for sub only detail, it was made to be a more midbass type driver, so it won't perform as well as the re8 will in sub only situations, imo it's a better midbass, not a better subwoofer

If you are actually interested, do some searching over on http://www.soundillusions.net.......the TB's seemed to be pretty popular over there.

I have a TB8 in my house (sitting next to me actually), and it's pretty decent, doesn't hit low lows to great though.
