Re8 Ht

I got a RE8 from the group buy and I wanna use it as my HT sub. I have a few questions however.

Is .307 cu ft. the recommended size sealed for a RE8? Does anyone have box plans for a ported box, and is it better to build a bigger box for HT or is .307 cu ft big enough?

I'm most likely going to only have a 2.1 setup, leaving me with 2X100 watts left over that can be used from my HT reciever. Can I use these to power the RE8, and if so, where could I find a low pass filter / crossover for the sub? Is it better to buy a plate amp? (I'm on a budget so if it's fine to use the HT reciever, then I'd prefer to do that)

Go with a PE plate amp as recommended...that way, you get external crossover control you wouldn't get with the regular speaker outputs (unless your receiver has a way to control that, I don't know).

Port that little 8, and you should be surprised with the output //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
