re sx18....were my hopes too big?????

If anything i believe i tuned my box TOO LOW. If i went around 38 herts it would sound more to my liken...dont get wrong it sounds great. But getting alot of boom and no bang. So i feel for me i will give it a few weeks and take a break While i work on my girls systtem for her bday. Lol. Maybe 2 12s in my center console will bring my truck alive maybe

My alt and battery is not a problem. The mb quart is very easy on my voltage. While the car is on i dont drop below 13.4-5... and i already had the idea of adding subs to the console before i put the 18 in. Remember my box is 9.2 cu. Ft after sub displacement. That is huge. I wanted it to kill the lows which is doing a great job at. But the mids is another story. I will check my sonic filter theres a chance i have that too low as well

You can do the console but you are messing with the acoustics. You might as well just go a head and get yourself some nice Eminence Mid Woofers, Eminence Mids, and Eminence Tweeters for your Doors and forget doing a console. It isn't going to be anything near "SQ" or remotely Sound Quality but you WILL like it. Trust me on that!

Either way you swing it, nothing has been talked about in this thread regarding a Full Spectrum Sound Stage. Just sincere speculation on how to make your 18 sound better. I think some of us would like to know the Deck and Front Stage/Front Stage Amp, etc. etc.

Never really care about getting into staging. Im not really trying to go with sq setup. I have 2 pair of plye super tweets ran off the deck. And 2 pair of sony gs1720 6.5 ran off a powerbank 2 ch. Amp. Will later get a good 4 ch. Amp so i can run 2 more pair of 6.5s..... my highs sound cool for what it is. I know i need to get a amp for my tweets

ok friday i went ahead and replaced my raditor and my fan clutch since my truck really over heating. as i was replace the fan clutch i realized this was my problem since the clutch had no tension. so far i did the water pump bocked off my heater core replaced my thermostat. all my water hoses. so after about 3 months and $400 my car is fixed. and my mpg seemed to have doubled. for the last 3 days i have been driving arounding for about 3-4 hours banging. but i still want more. everyone who has heard it says it sounds great but i guess the bass is taking over me cause i want more. so as of now im going to start upgrading my power. bigger battery and change my alt to an 160amp.

will i see more bang with a bigger amp. the mb quart 1600 is fine. but do i have room for more. my sub is taking all the power but it seems like it want more. if i get a dd1 which ensures my power is clean what would be the limit of my sub?

I would try to get that electrical up to 14.4 V first before going bigger with the amps. You'd be surprised how much of a difference 1 whole volt makes in output.

I'm getting the opposite effect from yours out of my system, a lot of bang but not enough boom lol. I have a lot of lost energy due to the car flexing too.
