Just another newbie here. Ive been browsing and learning the past few weeks and im slowly putting together a daily driver system in my Tahoe which im sure ill ultimately remove and upgrade to comp status. Im drooling over the anticipated new monster from RE which id like to run 2 of. Anyways here is the details

Currently running analog MA Audio 4000 on single first generation Immortal 12". Looking to continue with this amp for now. Supposedly 4000 at 1 ohm but I wont hold my breath on that one. Power thirsty mofo at that. Im becoming a big fan of RE and looking at both the 12" SX and XXX right now. I dont want to underpower an xxx for fear of it sounding like a bucket of a$$. I will bridge my amp mono for the most power. What would y'all run with this amp

2 of the SX 1000RMS, 2000 peak

2 of the XXX 1600RMS, 2500 peak

Thanx guys for the responses. I came in here excited that I was gonna have a clear cut answer but I guess ill stick with the SX's. Maybe ill look into what my amp really puts out. It has 4x40 amp fuses so im sure al little more reading will get my answer.

well if your amp puts out its power at 1 ohm then you would need to get the subs converted to dual 1s instead of the standard dual 2s, which can be done by RE for like $25, and if your putting 4000w to the pair, i'd say go with the XXXs cause i dont know how well an SX will like 2000w

Yep, exactly right. I already figured I was going to need to get 1ohm coils and run each sub in series and then parralel them together. I have seen people familiar with my amp put it down considerably though which is why im concerned.

1. i swear ive seen you driving before. Im not sure where it was though. we dont live too far away, im in marlboro.

2. i say the sx, ive heard better things and its cheaper. I also heard re audio has 18" baskets again, so maybe you could look into a single 18" sx instead of 2 12's, but its your choice.

3. if you do what you did in that picture, you better hope your sub box is bolted down. lol.

nice car btw, looks nice.

Id say its possible. I have been up that way before but not that frequently. right now im leaning towards the SX's because I know they will perform with my amp and the price is better plus they seem to be more geared as a better sub for a daily driver. The cost difference helps too and yes the box will definetly be bolted down as thats the only way ill do it.
