hey

which sub out of the RE SX and the rockford fosgate T2 is better for SQ but more towards SPL, whihc will run best with a directed 1500d whihc has 1100watt rms at 1 ohm.

also is it advisable to upgrade to a hifonics 1606d to get more output from the sub of choice

thanks for the help:)

RE SX18 if you have the room(you didnt specify what size). I have run SXs daily with 2kw and never had any problems. They will get hella loud and they sound pretty good to boot.

im thinking of getiing a 15" SX then but will it be fine with a directed 1500d for a small amount of time as i need to get the money together to buy a hifonics 1606d so im gona hav to run the SX on my directed amp for around a week

also where can i get plans to build a ported box as the RE inernet site is confusing and i cant make sense of thier box builder as i am a newbie to building your own boxes and having them ported and how are u suposed to tune a box:confused:

What prices are you looking at for the 2?

well i gotto buy my equipment off ebay as i live in the Uk, i can buy the SX from my local audio shop and the T2 i would hav to buy off ebay which is selling the 15" for $375 plus i will have to pay around $100 for shipping

the SX would be $600 but i would want to get the one that will perform best

also can anyone recomend a real good amp for the SX i have a budget of $400

I dont know about shipping but you should be able get the SX for 375 easy . AS far as a amp I would recommend a Autotek MM1400.1 We have had really good results out of that combo.

I have a biased opinion but the T2 woofer gets REALLY LOUD while maintaining undistorted bass.

People run well over a 1000watts daily to these subs and they take the pain all day.

To be honest I don' t have a lot of experience with the SX, however I have seen/heard T2 woofers day in and day out - That sub is reliable, strong, beefy lookin' and puts out the power you need. It performs well in a sealed enclosure as well as a ported box.

Overall a great woofer.

Best of luck with which one you choose!

I personally have a 15" SX and absolutely love it. Im running about 2kw daily on it and it takes the beating. The amp I'm using is an American Bass 100.1 and its at 1 ohm, the box is around 2.5 @ 28Hz i think, I also use a different box for competitions, 3.6 @ 48 Hz

It get's incredibly loud, but still sounds good

would that amp give it all the power it can take and so i would be able to run it without any problems, are there any other amps whihc will be very good for a SX.

also what size is best to get out of the 12" and 15" and whihc size will be best for SQ but more geared towards SPL

i currently have a kicker L7 15" and i dont realy like the bass its kinda muddy this may be because of the crappy box im running it

so what size is best to have the SX in:confused:
