Re sx 15 vs Re sx 18

Great subs as mentioned either one will like a large ported box. My old wall for 4 15 SX's was 30 cubes

why would a 15" sub require so much airspace? i always thought most 15's would be happy with 5-6 cu ft each.. was thier a specific reason why you built it soo large?

I'm guessing more gain at tuning frequency.
