Re sx 15 vs Re sx 18

I know how much every one loves these vs threads, but is the more cone area going to get deeper and louder?

I was always told to look at the free air resonance (FS), & the smaller number = the better the sub will play lower hz.

-----But------

The 18" sub is better and most larger cones play deeper.

-----Same brand subs, different cone area.-----

I'm going going to use the Crossfire VR2000d, ported enclosure, & 4ohm subs to bring them down to 2ohm (if this matters), squeezed into a 2006 Cadillac StS.

Which hook-up will play deeper + louder?

in terms of FS, theoretically the 15 will play lower by TS parameters, whereas the 18 will just simply move more air at those lower frequencies (but will still play low)

Ide go with the 18, if you have the room for it. I've used SX's, and they like a nice BIG box (6-7 cu ft ported for an 18)

i would do 2 se they play lower than the sx in the same box and should sound better. plus 2 12's have more cone area than 1 15 so should still be just as loud or louder. the 18 is going to need a box close to 10cuft gross to get enough port area and tuned low enough. i dont know if there is that kind of room or not in a caddy

Given the car is a 06 Cadilac STS I don't know if I will have the trunk space.

I'm not to worried about the trunk space, but I still want enough room to use the cargo net.

i dont drive a cadillac

go measure.

and you need 6-7cu ft NET, so your overall box will be more around 9-10 cu ft as stated.

Yeah, the setup would be a pair of two subs whatever the size.

I agree, I don't know if I have enough trunk space in the caddy.

you must have a monster trunk because your going to need 10 to 12 cu ft gross but if your looking for lows i would still look into se better low end and the should be fine on 1000 watts apiece

Great subs as mentioned either one will like a large ported box. My old wall for 4 15 SX's was 30 cubes
