it depends more on the setup than just what sub woofer. what amp are you running? is it true Watts or a overrated amp? how many woofers you running, how loud and how good it will sound depends alot on the box. you cant compare the two in the same enclosure each woofer will do better in a box suited for it. i have heard all the re's and owned the re series and mt's. they are very nice woofers. but the dd will handle more and take more abuse than those sx's.
i did a drop in test in a cavalier with an audioque hdc3 and a re sx both 12's using a kicker zx1500.1 and the aq murdered that sx in every way possible not even a comparison . but than again the aqhdc3 is a Chinese version of the dd 9500 check the link below

i will power it by soundmagus x2000d... measure it with DMM and produces 1700rms of real power..

so youre telling that the SX are no match with the AQ??

if it is.. then the RE is no match for DD??! am i right?

ya the aq whooped the sx badly. my cusin has a trailblazer with two 12" sx's and 2 arc audio 1k amps one per sub with upgraded electrical. my bro 98 cavalier 1 hdc312 1 kicker 1500 stock electrical . the aq setup murdered those 2 sx's . then we took the aq out of the cavalier and droped in the sx and it was sad how much output we lost .

the hdc3 is similar to the dd 9500 series not the 3500 series. check the links. dd and aq are a family business the father aq and the son dd. the dd's are hand made in usa and the aq made in china.

but the DD 35xx series can handle 4000 rms of peak power... so i think its the same level of that AQ. sad to hear that the AQ beat the RE SX.. i feel sad coz im an SX owner...

1995.1 watts still not 2500 rms at 14.4 and if you read a below it says ...So I hope that this give you guys same good info on same amps. All powers are @ Max in a 3 sec burp.
