RE Suggests ported for SQ?

a properly built ported enclosure will do just fine for SQ applications. Tuned low they perform very well

SQ is also very subjective. I never cared much for sealed and will take a proper ported enclosure over a sealed anyday.

There's a thread on DIYMA where tuning higher then normal had very good results and using EQ to tame down the bump/peak you get from porting...

A big box tuned really low won't have the peaky output of a louder ported box, but the response curve will be super flat and it will sound great, just not get as loud, but the SQ will be there.

If you do 2.5-3 cubes at 23hz I am sure you will be impressed as long as you're throwing optimal power at it...... The fugger will beat hard and be a low note ***** fo sho!

tuning low like that will definitely have an even response curve, avoiding peaks and drops, and the output rolloff will be gradual and you probably wont notice it until it gets below audible level with a tuning that low.
