RE Se's and flared ports.

So yesterday i got all thesupplies to finish my friend's little ranger box, and start the construction of my fiberglass box. It's going to have two RE SE 12's in it, and its going to be around 4 cubes after, and i really wanna do some round ports.

I can get a doable port length with three 4" ports, but I wanna know if you think with a really nice flare if two 4" ports would be fine. Its going to be off 1200 RMS. Thanks

cutting it close imo, but from what i understand it should be okay

when you say a really nice flare, you do mean the premade precision style ports, that come with the flare, right?

Well yes and no. I plan on mounting the opening of the PVC on MDF rings, and then stretching the spandex stuff over the box and bringing it around the pipe too. That would make a smooth transition into the pipe, like a giant flare.

Using bondo and all that to make it seamless. As for the inside, I'm gonna try to make flares out of glass and put those on the inside. Two ports would make it so much easier to do, but i don't want to compromise the quality.

Is there any way to get just the ends? I've got 10 feet of 4" PVC in the basement... lol

i tried the making a mold to use to heat PVC using a heatgun, to make a mold.

really difficult.....i couldnt get it to work, so i used storm tubing....8 inch iirc

Even if the inside is a retarded looking port, no ones gonna see it, so I'll make the mold out of any semi flared looking thing. The outside though, I don't think it will be too bad to do with glass. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place though with the ammout/size of port... I was just at lowes yesterday... Does anyone know if they carry 8" PVC and fittings?

you can buy flares from partsexpress also
