ok im going to be getting some re se 12s and i was just wondering how long the break in period is. Also how many watts should i feed them to break them in. Another thing is ive been think since im mounting them vertically should i put a brace under the magnets to keep the stress off the baskets or would they be fine with out the braces.

no need for bracing under the mags, i suppose you could for your own personal preference.

i always break in at rms just play it low for around 1 week when you drive. Should be plenty of break in time.

right now they would begoing in to my box i already have which is 1.77@35. and i was just thinking about the braceing cause the baskets are cast aluminum and i wasn't sure how strong it was

they will be fine ... and is that box 1.77 cubic feet per sub or for both??? if its for both you chould probably look into a bigger box imo... i would give those subs around 4-4.5 cubes tuned @ 36 and somehwere around 60-70 sq inch of port... but i guess it depends on how your using the subs.

1.77cubic foot per sub and tuned to 35 hz using flared port tubes . and with the amps i got ide only be feeding them about 400w rms at least till i upgrade latter.

no real break in needed for a se because they use only 1 soft progressive spider. when you need to break in a sub is when it has xstiff spider or serveral spiders in a pack.

no brace needed to hold the motor. the 12spoke basket is VERY strong and can hold up triple the weight of a se...

i built the box like last summer . didn't want to go to big cause i wanted some trunk space .the 1.77 is for each sub as far as how they sound i don't know i haven't gotten them yet im just trying to find out all i can about them before i get them. about how much should i pay for a pair of them any way? ive seen them on ike sound for like 110 a sub ive also seen them on eBay for like 368 with free shipping.

i first started doing its rated power. 600w rms .

when i first got my SE it sounded really low on the first day, got better on the second day , and got even better on the fourth day.

The 12" RE SE D2 is on back order from Ikesound. I know because I placed an order for one on Sunday. When I got no shipment confirmation, I called this morning. They're supposed to get another shipment in early next week. We'll see how that goes. I know some people have had issues with this vendor, but I've always had good luck with them (knock on wood). At $110 shipped, I'm willing to wait a bit. If it doesn't ship out next week though, I'll cancel.
