RE SE Comparison

I also have a diamond audio d9 12" but i didnt think it was getting enough power from my kenwood excelon kac-x811d running at 2 ohms. So i just stuck in a Re se in its place i still have the d9 should i put it back and under power it?

I think some people have been living under a rock. RE went stright to a dealer network a while ago. You will pay MSRP direct from RE and only slightly cheaper through a dealer assumeing you have one anywhere near you. RE's marketing is a joke. SE's are in the $300 area as are w6v2. For the money you will sound better with a w6v2 and get slightly louder, though the two are very compareable. On top of that you wont be buying from a sell out company that suddenly came up with almost as many excuses as eD.

I'm not a JL fan by any means. Seriosuly, between the two just get a Mag for a little bit more.

kthxbi.

I know an authorized dealer that sells RE SEs for around 200.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Can the Jl be had for that?

Well, the dealer I walked into in Orlando wanted $300... Even if you did sell them for $200 I'd spend $100 in gas driving to you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Good job RE. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

So spend 25 on shipping.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Re is doing a good job. They are trying to open up a larger market through dealers. Internet/Direct sales can only take a company so far. Re/Us Amps offer dealers support/protection and Dealers keep the sport alive by hosting events. If your dealer will not come off MSRP, find one that will, its as simple as that. The only people RE has pissed off is the internet crowd, a very small percentage of the Market. JL, RF,Kicker and many others dont sell direct and have high MSRPs(449.99 for a 12L7)and noone crys about that. I try and be fair by not over charging and helping everyone I can, but I guess I am still the ultimate evil because I am a brick and mortor dealer.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The point is that RE is screwing over the people that helped them build the company in the first place. Their prices skyrocketed, their customer service plummeted, and they just aren't very attractive anymore to buyers who know a thing or two about what's out there. That's why so many people have gravitated towards Fi. Scott from RE moved on and created his own company that knows how to treat customers.

How is RE screwing over people that helped build the company, are they not warrantying/servicing the products bought btyh these people? How has customer service plummeted? We have never had a problem, quite the oppisite actually.. The company may have had some isuues during and shortly after the transition but that is all, and I believe its understandable. Prices to dealers have not skyrocketed, there just not doing direrct sales now, and that is a move that had to be made to grow the company and keep it alive. Find a good dealer and prices are competitive, its not like RE makes a bad product. REs products went from the #1 subs on this forum to $hit overnight because of the move to dealers, not because of a bad product. If FI made the move to dealers it would be the same. No one outside of these forums has heard of FI, can enough sells be made on that alone? It didnt work for RE, but now RE is thriving through dealer networks, selling the same great products to people that would have never head of them otherwise. We shall see. Belive it or not there actually is car audio outside of the net.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've heard a lot of people complaining about customer serviece lately when dealing directly with the company. Yes, they of course warranty their products, but if you get some retarded blonde on the line when you call with a probelm like some have complained about, it makes it difficult to actually get the service you are entitled to. They make a great product, yes, but it isn't worth what they are trying to charge for it. When they were the forum boner, they were readily available to anyone for a decent price when ordered direct. Now that they've switched to dealer networks, they have alienated their original customers. I, for one was very interested in buying an RE product before the change, but now I have to drive for hours to get to my nearest RE dealer and pay an astronomical amount of money. RE could have continued for a long while the way they were, but made the change to make more money off of 16 year old kids who don't know any better. Fi on the other hand, was built from the beginning to offer great products at low prices, and was made to survive doing so. since the company's inception, there has been nothing but praise for the products and CS on this and many other forums. Good word of mouth is bound to spread. When a company offers to modify its woofers so that it will fit in a customer's truck (like Scott did with me), that kind of customer service is going to carry the company a long way. Especially when combined with great prices on amazing products.

Calling the tech line I know for a fact will not get you the blonde. Try it sometime, you will be surprised who picks up.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Just going off of what I've heard. Maybe you have better luck with them since you're a dealer. Personally, I can't stand dealers. They charge to much and I have not had any good experience with my local dealer. I realize not all of you guys are arseholes, but my experiences have soured me on dealers for wuite a while. The dealers i've worked with don't answer many qustions, and act offended when you ask. I know you guys are trying to make money, but when a man deliberately discourages me from learning to do something myself, simply so he can make another buck off of me, that man doesn't garner much respect from me.

When Holy started pick up I stopped calling.

Then RE offers bull shit excuses for price increases because metal cost more. Right... STFU RE.

Then they admit that they are going full fledged Dealer out of nowhere. Sure they where planning it and moving towards it but they barely announced it at all to their loyal followers. Good Move RE.

Then they announce that USamps is buying them out and Holy starts answaring phones and you start educating her about what a subwoofer is. STFU Holy.

Then USamps sends Jeremy to the forums to tell everyone they where going bankrupt...when asked for proof (there should have been court documents filed) it was kind of blown off as far as I know...Great way to sell out and try and make up for it RE. This is after USamps sold out to California and started makeing their amps outside of the US and suddenly amps start popping up with surprisingly similar boards yet prices are sitll insane. Noise problems amps mysteriosuly failing.... No commen on that.

In the end RE is still a great product...but WTF? Kicker, JL, etc...they all moved to dealer networks with 4-5 times the timeline length.

ga12R, I am in no way insulting you. You carry a good product and are just trying to make a living. You seem to have your head screwed on pretty tight too... Thumbs up for you. Meh to RE.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Well, maybe, but I'm too lazy right now to try;)
