ok so i just installed my re se 12 in my new 2.2 cuft tuned to 32 hz vented box..... what a difference! It still stays extremely clean sounding but is way louder. I used to have it in a 1.25 cu ft sealed. so if anyone is wondering which route to go, ported or sealed.... i highly reccomend ported, that is all, and nobody prolly cares.....

I had a local meet up with another ca.com member about a year ago and we compared his sealed 15" Mag vs. my ported 15" Mag (32hz) and mine had a huge difference in output. It impressed him so that he eventually purchased my mag enclosure lol.

A good Ported enclosure adds 3-4.5 db.

No duh it will have greater output. It just wont hit notes well under port tuning, for you 20-30 Hz.

enough sealed will get louder than ported..but on single subs ported is the way to go....

SE's are made for sealed

SEs are designed for sealed. From what I've heard they do seem to sound a little better ported though. If you get a sub built for a ported box you will be even more impressed. It will play much more "musically"

SEs perform good in both, they are one of my fav subs. I used my 2 12" in 4cf@32hz on 1.5k and they were very impressive for being budget subs. I have 1 10" now in 1.5@32hz on 500watts and it still wangs good.
