pyramid 2ch 600 on the sub, and it's still satisfying. one channel is lucky to put out 250.. '2 ohm stable' doesn't freaking help if you can't bridge at two ohms! grr.. oh well, amp is going out, head unit is going out. sub is the only solid piece of equipment i have. soon to have a jl 500/1 and my dad's old kenwood somethingorother. i will never touch a pioneer headunit again. ever.

Is that partical board insted of MDF?
no sir, 3/4 mdf. no 45s because it only took me one night after work to do this. it's my first box i built by myself ( first *ported*) and i didn't want to make it too complicated with all the trying to find a new port length, mixing more resin, etc. etc. it does have a few layers in the inside of the port because i can't quite get the straight cuts down. i'll go to my dad's and steal his table saw when i'm ready to build another box, then i'll do everything 100% correctly. tuned to 32hz (can't believe i left that out..) and it would sound amazing if i didn't have engine noise spewing out of the box. i will never buy another pioneer headunit again. went through two different models, and even after i grounded the rca outs it still gave me shit so the other is in my fiat because it doesn't have room for an amp, let alone a sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif so i don't have that problem. recommendations on small-ish amps? i'm talking

edit: apparently i love typing run-on sentences

apparently i have another reason to hate menards. oh well, it's all resined up on the inside and i'll spray the port with that textured paint (forgot what it was called) and it'll be bedlined so nobody will ever know.. shh.. you don't know either. guess that's what you get when you buy clearance wood at 845 in the evening in the darkest of dark corners of the conniving bastards' lumber yard

okay, here's my first problem with what you say. you assume somebody ****ed me over because i bought the wrong fake wood. second, you say it's going to get warped. i glassed the inside so if there's a problem with the box it's going to be because i failed to apply it correctly, and i doubt this because i've been doing autobody for a number of years. plus, i'm spraying it with bedliner on all sides. third, barring a tropical storm or some flash-flood, how would there be any amount of water inside of my truck? a few drops of liquis, sure but that's what the bedliner is going to protect against. i'm not disputing your experience in audio; i just don't see why you are still calling me out on this. i admitted my mistake and now i know what not to do. regardless, i took all the necessary steps to make a solid box (even with a subpar medium) and it satisfies me. i'll look a little closer next time. everyone makes mistakes dood, please cut me some slack.

so i got everything set up all nice like with my new amp a good two months ago and i've been satisfied with it

then this

IMG00093-20090802-0824.jpg

turned into some off-roading at my brother's property in bargersville (i'm pretty sure it's legal on private property //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif )

swiped a tree.. so it was time to pull the bed off

like it never happened

IMG00096-20091105-1904.jpg

the good thing about working in your dad's garage.. he reminded me i had a leak in my gas tank. this was there when i bought the truck, i swear. along with a loose clutch bleeder that pissed all the hydraulic fluid and ruined the master cylinder no antifreeze and no oil. these rangers are bulletproof
