What are my wiring options?

I know both of them are 1000 RMS but i guess 12" will be pushing more air?

Is it true that my wiring option with sing RE SX 10 would be 4 ohms and with two of them it would be 2 ohms?

These are the difference between 10 and 12 , at least these are the ones i found.

How important these feature are? Coz if they r not really that important i thought maybe i cud buy 10" instead of 12" coz its cheaper and it has a higher chance of fitting my mustang's trunk.

10” RE SX: Efficiency -SPL 1W/1m: 85.2 dB SPL

Equivalent Compliance -Vas: 21.8 liters

12” RE SX: Efficiency -SPL 1W/1m: 88.1 dB SPL

Equivalent Compliance -Vas: 47.6 liters

You can get either in dual 4's or dual 2's, so that equals out.

Run the 12's, you won't be disappointed, and I don't think they're much more money than the 10's, if any at all.

you are right , they are basically the same price, but RE needs a bigger box and i really think 12 would not fit my trunk, unless i get a small box but then i will sacrifice some bass and performance, right?

This guy sells it on ebay an he says that my wiring options for a single mono amp are 8ohms, 2ohms or 0.5ohms. Seperately you can wire them to 4 ohms or 1 ohm.

Is that true?

So in order for me to connect it to the amp @ 2 ohms i have to use both of them? that sucks.. i don have that much space in my trunk

Your talking about ONE 12 or ONE 10 right?

Ported your talking about 2cubes prolly for the 12 (I'll check it out in a sec), but you can always go sealed and make it smaller. You shouldn't have a problem fitting 2-3cubes in a mustang.

Bigger box will let you get lower, but if your a bit small it won't kill anything.

Also, it depends on what ohm sub he's selling. BUT, RE makes the sx in both dual 4 and dual 2 I believe, so you can find whichever you want.

Appreciate the info,

I am actually lil torn between kicker L7 12 and RE SX. Which one shud i go for?

And if its kicker l7 i know i gotta get zx 750 to push it perfectly but what amp do i use for RE SX 1000 RMS?

Nothing wrong with kicker, I'm just an RE fan, plus I'd rather have something you cant get at circuit city.

The SX (and the l7 for that matter) will take a bit more than they're rated at. I know the SX's you can push around 1400rms safely to for daily.

As for amps, (and this is for if your looking at ONE sub), if you get a dual4ohm, you need a 2ohm stable amp that'll push 1400 rms at 2ohm's.

" " " " " ", if you get a dual 2ohm, you need an amp that'll push 1400rms at 1ohm OR 4ohm.

Checked out the RE audio site, forgot that they don't reccomend you put SX's into sealed enclosures, but you'll only need about 1.25cubic foot for the 10" sx, and 2cubes for the 12"

that was my auction......so yes i'm right. My subs are dual 2 ohm coils.
