Goob, I have a proposal. Instead of whining, I think it is time we just do something.
In order to prevent further happenings, the mods ought to go through a training period of sorts. Instead of just saying "You're a mod, have fun.", they ought to be given their position, but with restrictions at first. Perhaps:

• First two weeks: Ability to edit and delete posts
  
• Two to four weeks: Ability to delete threads and change thread titles
  
• Four to six weeks: Ability to make stickies
  
• Six to eight weeks: Ability to edit signatures and avatars
  
• Eight to ten weeks: Ability to ban
  

I think that phasing in the mods slowly, and giving them their powers in steps will help teach them to use them responsibly. If they abuse, send them back to step one. I don't know if you can do that with this forum software, but by all means, if you can, do it.

Well, it would seem you dont have a very good understanding of how things are supposed to be then. Not trying to start an arguement but I will give a example. When you stay at a motel and leave your room and your belongings are there. The maid has access to all rooms. She could go in and rob you blind even though she has access to your room for one reason which is to clean it. However, if she stole your belongings she would be abusing her priviledges (having access to your room) and would be subject to whatever recourse her boss sees fit if she is caught. ngsm13 is able to ban users if they violate certain forum rules. In a sense he is here to "clean" the forums of users that violate the TOS or posts or threads that violate the TOS. However, he abused his power by banning users that did nothing wrong. It doesnt matter if this is a internet forum or not. The admin trusted him to be responsible with the priviledges he gave him. ng then proved he wasnt able to handle that responsibility. Therefore his mod powers should be removed.

I'll say this much,

2. In noah's defense, the good he provides this forum and bs him and the rest of the mods have to put up with far out weigh the bad. when i saw the rules thing i figured it would end badly, but i did find it mildly humorous and figured if it wasnt done in an extreme case it wouldnt be so bad.

3. Unfortunatly complaining about it will solve nothing. And I personally dont think his powers should be removed seeing as him and jntar are probably the 2 most active members on the forum and clean up alot of stuff that you guys dont see.

After this I dont even know if I will be one here to much anymore...

There's no need to take such extreme actions.

I got threatened with a ban for reporting off topic and inappropriate posts. Granted, I reported like 30 of them but still with good reason. What a shock though, the posts never got removed. Except for a few of them anyway.

pm me about that and i'll see what can be done. links to the specific posts would be helpful.
