re on drag race

my 91 mustang has over 150,000 miles and it still runs strong, i dont think that foriegn cars are made to last any longer than domestics...especially fords, they design their engines to last, thats why they dont use the v10 351 in the mustangs, bc they simply dont live up to fords standards.

okay, this is my rant, most people that bag on domestics never drove one, most people that bag on foreigns NEVER DROVE ONE! i drove a 2002 sentra, and its shit, blew the motor, i drove my dads 84 s10 and it was the best truck in my eyes, nice and compact and had a good reliable engine (185000 miles worth) now i drive my mazda b2200......ford.....its a perfect little truck, reliable as hell so far, and its got high mileage. and wtf is up "body lifting" and raising truck, if its not Four Wheel Drive when it's lifted, it's garbage....yes GARBAGE. i dont care who u are, it could be President friggin Bush and i would say everything i think to your face. the only way 2wd trucks go is down or nowhere. 4wd goes up or down and YES u can slam a 4wd just as hard as a 2wd. Why would u want to be so high you have to have a friggin ladder to get in your truck, stock f150's piss me off cuz u have to jump into them......raised trucks are dumb all around.....period....half the people dont even go off-roading.

it just depends on how you drive... i have owned four domestics, and the ford ranger is the only one that held up. now i own a toyota and i think its the best thing since sliced bread, i couldnt be any happier with it, not to mention i beat the crap out of it. you win some you lose some

v10 351??? you mean a V8 right. the 351 is a windsor motor. You want to talk about reliability there is othing more reliable than a good old 5.7 liter cast iorn american beast. aslong as you keep it mild they run forever. now back to chevy's and fords, i drive a 04 corvette i love the car to death but it's the biggest piece of shit i've ever driven (comfort and quality wise) the car doesn't seal well cause of the targa top, the gears whine, the gas guage freezes if you use the wrong gas, the clutch chatters, the factory blose system is a sin. but anyways it's the price we pay letting foreign companies takeover market share. our big 3 just seem to settle with mediocre product or give in and sell to Bigger companies ie chrysler... screw mopar

I'm not really biased from my own experience. My old s15 had over 250,000 miles on the engine before the odometer stopped... even though that was a whole ****** and 2 clutches later. Not that it even runs that well and half the body has rusted off.

On the other hand, my toyota tercel ran 280,000 miles... body didn't rust off and one major repair was needed before I traded it in at 280,000. It started burning oil when some piston seal/ring thingies went bad at 70,000 miles $1,200 (ouch).

One was a truck, one a car... two different worlds really but I was happy with both of them. I still say foreign cars last and domestic = trash 9 times out of 10.

However, either will run forever if you treat them right. Which most people don't tend to do. Don't floor it at every stop light and then wonder why your ****** needed massive repairs after 70,000 miles or your valve seats recessed greatly by 100,000.

I'll raise your 5.7L Chevy a 5.0L Ford. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Both incredibly awesome engines, neither with any real short falls.

(BTW - 351 also comes in the Cleveland variety! :p )

I've had numerous 302's that passed the 200k mark without problem, and to my knowledge, are still going strong.

My fathers Vortech 350 just passed the 130k mark, also without issue.

It's all about the maintenance. Do it properly, even to the extent of being a little obsessive compulsive, and all will be well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
