I'm feeling the hair trick, but not feeling the install. Is there a reason you mounted the speaker inverted? Mounted normally, at least people won't immediately see it when they look at your car. IMO, it's asking to be nicked.

well i got 20 bucks and an hour worth of prep and paint on the basket... kinda wanted to show it off. i got safety screws holding everything down including the box. i doubt anyone is going to break in with a torx set. i still have to glue the dust cap back on and i might shorten the port a little... maybe i'll mount it normally after i do all that...
