ok im debating on which to get im gonna be running 2000 watts rms to which ever i get so which would be louder spl wise off of that amount of power and will be in a ported box for sure. so which would be louder of that amount of power a re mt 15 eclipse titanium pro 15 or a rockford power hx2 15

im going to say an MT, but i havent had any experience with either sub. You might not get a comparison from anyone cause most people are going to be biased about RE or TC.

But i think either sub will get piss loud and you cant go wrong. Also MT= SPL, 4hp=spl+sq jus a reminder

^^^^^^^^^ MT because you dont have the power for the 4hp.
Not at all true.

2000 watts to the MT is too much imo based off the voice coil, 2000 watts to the Ti is about right for daily driving. You'll break your MT with 2000 watts RMS, in fact, you'll even break the Ti with a 2000 watt sinwave a few a few minutes. Subwoofers really don't handel the power people think they do. Its hard to tell because music has so many breaks and pauses in it to allow the glues and metal to cool back down, but a continuous 2000 watts sinwave is pretty much death for any driver in the world. Burping and SPL competition is another story.

Not having power to drive a speaker has much more to do with the sensitivity of the driver rather than the size of the coil/motor. The Ti pro is 91.8dB with 1 watt at 1 meter in IB, and that is pretty darn sensitive for a 15” SPL subwoofer.

I don't have a working MT to give you a comparable number, but it should be very close from what I have measured with a working 18”.

Why else would you run a continuous sine wave if not in SPL competition?
Exactly, his amp can do it, so why would that not be enough for music? That was my point.

The MT and Ti need less power to sound as loud than most high excursion subwoofers.

ok seein as thier is quite a dispute it seems like on which would be better the ti or the mt then what sub any sub not just the two i have listed which would be the best spl wise with 2000 watts rms

So the 5,000rms we're hoing to run to our MT's on a daily basis w/ music is a bad idea? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
