Re-doing constant power wire for HU

Today im gonna get a 10g wiring kit from work and use it to power my HU... Should i also use 10g wire for the ground and ground it straight to the battery? Right now i have it grounded to the frame behind the radio and thats working pretty good. I just want to avoid ground loops and get a clean 14 volts to it. I have a 10 awg lead coming into my car direct from the battery for HU constant, Roof mount constant, As well as anything else i wanna hardwire. I then have a 6 in / out dist block mounted behind my glove box to make wiring things up that much easier. So i personally dont see anything wrong with that. However, I dont see a need to run a dedicated ground, Unless your having groundloop problem's. Then again im no expert.

Would it matter being that the wire off the factory harness is still thin as hell?

no, bigger wire is less resistance so it will flow thru there instead of the tiny factory shiz

i think thats what happened to my 9825,running power wire to the factory harness.in all my times hooking up hu's,this was the only time i did this,and the last time.running high power hu's off of the factory harness is a no no imo.in the past,running wire straight to the battery with in line fuse,and ground wire to frame allways seem to work best.

yep, you don't have to worry about wtf else is on that same circuit from the factory. wire that shit up like an amp. straight from the source, properly fused.

Ground i assume? I never use the groud from the factory harness. Theres always a decent peice of metal behind the dash that i use to ground my headunit.

What should i fuse it for? 10a? 20a? I think the 10g kits come with a 30a regular 2 prong fuse in them. But the radio should pull no more than 10a right

Let me make sure im checking the ground correctly. This is what i do before i ground something :

Clean the surface, then run a wire from the batt neg terminal to my neg lead on my multimeter, touch pos lead to grounding point, and check resistance. I got a .3 ohms reading at the ground i picked. This is the proper way to do it right?
