RE Components out?

hey i jsut went to reaudio.com to checc out some of their stuff and noticed that under components it shows an RE mid with tweeter and crossover network.. did this set just come out? i dont think ive ever seen anyone post about it. also, where can i get them ifthey are? if they arent where can i get the RE XXX 6.5" woofer and how much will it run for?

The set with the mid, tweeter, and crossover is the RE RE component set, which has been out forever. The usual review is great mids and midbass, but the tweeter is harsh is your usual install. I think they run about $140 to $160 shipped direct from RE. Could be a little less.

The XXX mids are about $250 (?) shipped for a pair.

To BUY from RE, you have to contact RE. Just keep calling them until you get in. It takes a while.

dude, did u even checc. there's TWO different component sets on their webpage. one is called the RE RE and the other is called the RE XXX...

It's been on there for about a year now. As long as I can remember. People were upset that it was listed as a comp set and only the mid being available.

Unless they recently released it no. It is still a mid.

I wish they would. I would buy the tweet, x-over in a heartbeat.

Neither. Unless something is in development RE has yet to say, there are no plans for a XXX component set. The REs are great under 50wrms, after that it is recommended to use an active crossover since the tweets get harsh after 50.

Neither. The only reason I can see them not having a complete comp set is the XXX does not do that well on the upper frequency range. They would need a tweeter capable of playing low enough to give the XXX enough space down low. So blending a tweet with the XXX is a challenge. Also with the name XXX on the comp set, they would not release anything less than "perfection" in their eyes.

And I doubt they want to release a lack luster comp set at that price.

So after more than a year, we still wait. As we always have.

Honestly if you ask me the XXX isn't worthy of that high a quality tweeter... Possibly if we could get a neo radial XBL^2 motor with a very compliant suspension, very very high B field strength... WITH *lots* of xmax...

A 3 way *is* the best (cost effective) solution with the XXX though...

Psh, just get the Adire/CSS FR125S and match them at about 450hz. Who needs a tweeter? =p
