RE and ED

I dont think they have control of where those advertisements land, I believe that is all up to the search engine,

email Mike at Sound Splinter, you will find out he is an honest guy for sure

google has been criticised recently for the search engine code and the type of results are showing up at the top
I always thought that Sponsored Links were purchased (hence the "sponsored" aspect). You can sign up for the service here.

Back to the initial topic, ED has been quite busy. Here’s a quick list of names that pop them up as a Sponsored Link. I wonder how many other keywords they're using...

Resonant Engineering

Adire Audio

Arc Audio

Stereo Integrity

Avionixx

Image Dynamics

TC Sounds

Tangband

Brax

True. But something like "Resonant Engineering" is a fairly specific keyword, and I doubt that the search engine would play a significant role in listing sponsors for such a search.

I don't see how targeting advertisements to customers who may be legitimately interested in your products is a shady practice.. it should go without saying that someone in the woofer market looking at RE's and Adire's may also want to check out eD, SoundSplinter, IA, SI, and a whole host of other vendors as well. You'll never hear me disrespecting other companies, as they all have their pros and cons and each woofer has its strengths and relative weaknesses.

But when anyone is shopping (at least when I'm shopping), I like to have as many options presented to me as possible so I can take the time to compare products and see which will fit my needs best.

I agree 100%, I just think that it's funny that when ED does it, it's shady, but when someone they like does it it's okay.

By the way, how did your ads dissappear within a day of it being mentioned on this thread? Did you coincidentally run out of $$$ on your google account, or did you pull that keyword?

Google switches it up depending on the maximum quota that I specify. I haven't touched my AdWords settings in over a month, so their computers just make sure my ad is showing enough to meet my stated budget while not going over it. That's why sometimes you'll see it and sometimes you won't. I also have my keywords seperated into three different groups, so while one group may stop showing, you may still see my link pop up for other select keywords that belong to another group.
